PUPS AT THE BEACH

Our Terrier-Chihuahua (“Terhuahua”) Jack was rescued from an animal shelter just a few days before his expiration date. Now he goes with us everywhere: day trips to wineries, longer stays at places far from home.

Online, there’s a lot of good tips for traveling with pets. Animal Planet has some but there’s lots more to be found. Too, there’s a growing number of pet friendly hotels. One we like is One Ocean Resort at Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Btw, not far from One Ocean Resort is Casa Marina Hotel where I lived among surfers and beach bunnies in the early 80s for $240 a month all utilities included. I even had Charlie Chaplan’s same rooms. It’s the setting for a novel I’m writing.
